Fremont, California
The city of Fremont is in the state of California, and has an estimated population of 203,413 (2000 census). It is located in the southeast area of the San Fransisco Bay in Alameda County. Unlike many other cities, Fremont was a planned city, which means it was specifically planned and laid out. If you're planning to visit the city, there are several ways of getting to it. By air, you can arrive in three different airports: Oakland Airport is only 20 minutes away, San Jose Airport is about half an hour away and the San Fransisco Airport is about 45 minutes away. You can also get in the city by train and bus.
There are quite a few things to do and see in the city of Fremont. Central Park is a huge park that offers a beautiful lake with boat rentals available. The NUMMI Tour is a high-tech auto assembly plant, which features giant welding and stamping machines. Broadway West is a stage company that displays five plays a year. Sharks Ice Arena is a great ice skate arena that has public hours nearly daily. Alameda Creek Trail is a 12 mile long bike trail that follows Alameda Creek. It is car free, and an excellent trail for bike riders who want to enjoy natural scenery.
